HARRIET GLEN The earlier part of Harriet Glen's childhood was spent in Australia, this is where she developed both her love and affinity with animals. From an early age she was drawing and at the age of nine started making clay models of horses which she sold to pay for her first ever pony! After a spell in New Zealand, she went on study art in Australia and then began teaching her subject of art and sculpture in Sydney. Her love of horses led Harriet Glen to the world of Horse Racing where she worked for the legendary trainer Tommy Smith. In both 1978 and 1979 she won the New South Wales Australian Lady Jockeys championship prize - a prize which included a trip to England! Harriet Glen now lives in Dorset in the countryside with her husband and son. Her studio allows her to look out at the horses which are her inspiration. Her bronze sculptures are internationally recognised in collections throughout Europe and worldwide.
